Ang Lee's "Lust, Caution" was very good, IMHO. |

Dad is home from boat to nowhere. Midori is home from L.A. (road-tripped back). Clara is home from Morocco. My dad's birthday is on Wednesday--I'm going home.
John is going back to New Jersey today. Jacki is leaving today for D.C. and then L.A. Adrien is leaving Friday for Santa Fe and then L.A. |

I'm not a Republican, and probably disagree with this guy on his economics, but um, seriously? Leave the man alone!
Comparing an affair and a brief absence to Spitzer's prostitution scandal or Blagogogogovich's perhaps-sale of a senate seat is just ridiculous: note how Sanford is not only not breaking any law, but not denying anything he did? |

And even the way she kissed was childish (I'd fallen in love with those kisses, long but chaste, why dry closed lips counting each other's fine striations as they touched in emotion).
Besides, if God's bricklayers built real walls, I doubt we'd be able to demolish them. But instead of walls all I see is stage sets. And stage sets are made to be demolished.
I hadn't seen her for fifteen years! During that period, time had superimposed a mask on her true face, but fortunately the mask came with two holes that allowed her real eyes, her true eyes, to shine through, and they were just as I had known them. |

Boston Pride was this week/weekend.
Highlights include: Guerrilla Queer Bar (at Tequila Rain). Ran into Maree. Danced with a really attractive human--some drama involved in this that I'm not going to get into. I will make things right, though, or rather, clarify the status to everyone involved.
mmm attractive human
Free things obtained this weekend from gays hitting on me or lesbians enjoying my company include: 3-4 mimosas, brunch, 2 lattes, 1 mixed vodka drink, a shot (of ?), and a cookie!
Got pretty sunburned after Brunch and Pride. Met with Jill briefly about movie--she likes my sound design for it. Went back to Pride--couldn't see any friends there, so I walked to the subway and went home. Adrien gave me aloe (ahhhhh thank god) and I met up with my dad for Japanese food. Sake with dinner. Left dad (whom I will not see on father's day--he's going on a boat for a couple of weeks, doing some contracting for the Navy). Went to attractive human's place of employment. Free coffee.
Thought about clubbing again tonight (unending lust makes this a desirable thing to do) but watching Brick with Brendan instead: can't give up on my faithful friends, now, can I? There aren't that many who I can trust all the time. |

Star Trek was really fun.
Also I watched Speed Racer on DVD at Brendan's. That movie rules. People who make me see movies I think will be terrible are good to keep around.
Christina Ricci is pretty, but also perhaps inhuman... |

I think I'm using free movie tickets tonight to see Star Trek with Charlie. Apparently the sound design is amazing--now, I am excited. I wasn't going to see the movie originally... |

So far the quality is pretty good. I've only checked out a few poems.
And DPC is on EveryDayPoets on Jun 13. So that's great. |

Yesterday was bizarre.
I went to see Grace yesterday, in Providence. On the red line to South Station, a man was repeating "Highway Robbery. H-H-Highway Robbery."
In South Station there was a string quartet, and Dan Grabuasbuabskas (head of the MBTA) was right in front of me. How much hatred I have for this man: it is incomparable.
Seeing Grace was strange, because it's been three years. The last time I saw her, I had long hair, and it was a week before I got my tattoo.
We hung out and caught up. She lives in an in-law apartment of her boyfriend's family's home. Her boyfriend, Mike, is a mechanic. Her cat, Emo, is a cat. It is emo. Mike is the product of an arranged marriage; his parents were both members of The Unification Church (aka The Moonies). This same group wrote a song about Mike, which dictates what not to do, after he left the church.
Grace and I were cooking dinner when she made a joke about Mike getting into an accident. Then he got into an accident. We drove to go get him--he was fine, but had he not been wearing a full-face helmet, he probably would have been dead. Motorcycle! A previous (car) accident he was in left him in bad shape, with a punctured lung, so Grace was really worried.
Mike was fine--I first met him at a fire station a few feet from the scene of the accident... odd way to meet anyone. |

Hi Joel,
The automatic refund you picked up recently needs to be returned to the student service center in the Little Building. If you have already deposited the $300 check, a payment for $300 will need to be made back to Emerson at your earliest convenience. Since you are not going to the LA program this summer, the $300 deposit will be forfeited. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you and if you have any further questions please contact the student service center at 617-824-8655. Thanks! |
